All the FBA Reimbursements You Can Get in 2025

Our Annual Guide on FBA Reimbursements with news, updates and Policy changes.
What Are FBA Reimbursements?
FBA reimbursements are simply money that you're rightfully entitled to as a Seller when Amazon makes errors in management, inventory reporting and order fulfillment.
FBA Reimbursements allow you as a Seller to increase your cash and your Seller Central balance but - above all - not to erode your precious margins!
FBA Reimbursements in 2025: What Changed Compared to Before?
Although Amazon states that from January 2025 it will commit to making some FBA Reimbursements more automatic, it's good to emphasize that it's ALWAYS the Seller's responsibility to identify cases where an FBA reimbursement may be due and to submit the necessary requests within the related timelines.
In particular - from 2025 - Amazon has introduced important changes, significantly shortening these case opening timelines and - consequently - of requesting the individual FBA Reimbursement, namely (from Amazon Policy 2025):
- The request for an item lost or damaged at the fulfillment center must be submitted within 60 days of the item being reported as lost or damaged
- The FBA customer return request can be submitted between 60 and 120 days from the customer refund or replacement date. Requests should not be submitted before 60 days to ensure the customer has time to return the item.
- The removal request for items lost during transport can be submitted between 15 and 75 days from the shipment creation date. Requests should not be submitted before 15 days.
- All other removal requests must be submitted within 60 days of delivery to your selected address.
For the Seller it therefore now becomes CRUCIAL to promptly analyze all problems/errors within Amazon Logistics and - always promptly - intervene by opening the related cases and related Reimbursement requests.
What Are the FBA Reimbursements That Can Be Obtained in 2025?
-
Reimbursement for Disposed Inventory - Your product in sellable status is erroneously disposed of at Amazon's fulfillment center.
-
Reimbursement for Lost Warehouse - Your inventory has disappeared, or has been set aside for reviews, or has been placed in incorrect containers - within the single FBA warehouse.
-
Reimbursement for Lost Warehouse in Transit - Your inventory disappeared during movements between different FBA warehouses.
-
Reimbursement for Inbound or Internally Damaged Products - Items were received damaged by an Amazon partner carrier traveling from the Seller to Amazon's fulfillment center. Or they get damaged inside Amazon's warehouse itself.
-
Reimbursement for Lost Inbound Shipments - Shipments sent from the Seller's warehouse and partially or not received at the Amazon destination warehouse.
-
Reimbursement for Lost Removal Order - You requested to remove inventory from FBA but not all inventory arrived at your destination (or arrived at destination damaged).
-
Reimbursement for Missing Return - If your Returned product didn't return to Amazon Warehouse and the end Customer still requested a Refund, you're entitled to an FBA Reimbursement to request from Amazon (except in cases of returnless reimbursement).
-
Reimbursement for Incorrect Return - Amazon will reimburse the product cost to the Seller if it recognizes its error in evaluating the "status" of your Return: very often in fact Amazon makes a first automatic evaluation in which it sides with the end Customer and consequently assigns a certain "status" to your return. However, with photographic and video evidence, it's possible - in certain cases and product categories - to obtain the due Reimbursement for your "damaged" - "missing" - "wrong" (Switcheroo) product due to end Customer error.
-
Reimbursement for Fraudulent Return Against Functional Warranty - A sub-case of the previously expressed FBA Reimbursement is the case of Reimbursement for Return against the two-year Functional Warranty: if a customer abuses the two-year functional Warranty and makes a return (electronic/appliance) in which however the product was damaged, broken or improperly used - or important components are missing - and this is demonstrable with video or photographic evidence - it's possible to obtain the due Reimbursement for the Seller.
-
Reimbursement for Incorrect Pick & Pack Fees (Overcharge Tariffs) - There may be a discrepancy between (a) your product's measurements compared to Amazon's data or (b) your Amazon fees compared to what you're actually charged. In these cases you can request and obtain an FBA Reimbursement from Amazon.
The problems that arise in Amazon Logistics are more and more every year, while Amazon tries to recover more and more cash for itself. For the Seller it has become essential to manage FBA Reimbursements with adequate DAILY identification, control and monitoring tools, as well as skills in opening related Reimbursement request cases. For each type of FBA Reimbursement expressed above, certain photographic evidence, documentation, invoices and related requests to submit to Amazon Support are in fact required.
How to Request Reimbursements in 2025
To request your FBA Reimbursements in 2025, you can follow these steps:
-
Identify all the above-mentioned errors made by Amazon on your Inventory: you can download the Reports and analyze them or shorten the time with Software like Eagle Eye;
-
Collect the related documentary evidence: they can be Reports in Seller Central, shipment invoices, photographs and videos of returns or removals, correct measurements of your products etc. etc.
-
Access your Seller account on Amazon and create a case in the Seller Support Center, writing as subject "FBA Reimbursements";
-
Describe the problem in detail and indicate the type of reimbursement requested: be concise and explain your reimbursement request both in the first part and last part of the Case;
-
Attach the necessary documentation and explain it, showing that there is irrefutable evidence - and that you're right according to the data!
-
Submit the case and monitor the processing status through the Seller Support Center. Ask in your Case - if necessary - to speak with the Supervisors Team.
-
Speak in English: it's the only way to access the "upper floors". Always be polite, not verbose, and firm in your goals and requests. If necessary, request to be called by phone by the competent Manager of that area.
Requesting your FBA Reimbursements independently in 2025 is increasingly difficult: Amazon Support has become better at evading problems, and a certain experience is needed in talking to them and requesting what is due to us.
I Don't Have the Desire/Time/Knowledge to Deal with It. What Do I Do?
We still remember when our first customer at Eagle Eye Software told us: "I can't do everything alone and all by myself, I wouldn't know where to start and - above all - where to find the time! Why don't you do it for me?"
From that moment two years have passed and we've built an incredible know-how in Italy, unique, specialized and winning. We've trained a Team of experts, capable of navigating any situation regarding Amazon Logistics, to assert the sacred right of the Seller to obtain what they're rightfully entitled to.
Every day, we monitor your Seller Account, open the necessary cases and request the FBA Reimbursements you're entitled to, with tangible results, visible from all the chats and testimonials we have from our customers.
