100-150 return packages a week turn into €27,000 in reimbursements
The story of OK PRICE
"I always had this feeling that I had this loss but I didn't even know how to quantify it, honestly." — Giuseppe, OK PRICE (translated from Italian)
At a Glance
OK PRICE is an Italian family business that sells batteries on Amazon, including Duracell products, with annual revenue of 5 million euros. Giuseppe and his wife are the entrepreneurs who built the business, Fausto is the young and talented warehouse manager.
OK PRICE sells exclusively through Amazon's logistics (FBA), across all of Europe. Low-priced products, tight margins, and high volumes: the result is 100-150 return packages a week coming back from Amazon to their warehouse through Removal Shipments.
For two years OK PRICE has relied on Eagle Eye, the service specialized in recovering Amazon FBA reimbursements, and for about a year has been checking returns and removals with Eagle Eye's Return Scanner. The result: over €41,000 recovered, of which almost €27,000 from returns and removals alone.
The Challenge
When you sell batteries worth a few euros each, every return and Amazon error eats up the margin of 10 sales.
Before Eagle Eye, OK PRICE did the bare minimum: it only claimed what was obvious, like missing units in inbound shipments. But every claim won left an open question: how much more is slipping through?
On the opposite front, that of returns and removals, there was no control at all. Goods that Amazon marked as shipped but that never arrived at OK PRICE's warehouse. Non-compliant customer returns: broken products, or clearly not theirs. With 100-150 return packages a week, chasing every case by hand would have taken far too much time for items with a low unit value. It wasn't feasible, there was no choice but to absorb the loss and leave it to Amazon.
Giuseppe felt that something was getting lost along the way, also because OK PRICE's goods move between warehouses all across Europe. But it was a feeling, not a number. And a loss you can't quantify is a loss you can't defend.
There was also a less visible cost. The fear of returns kept OK PRICE away from products with a higher purchase cost: if a customer returns a broken or not-theirs item, on a battery worth a few euros it's an annoyance, on a more expensive product it's a real loss.
It was Fausto who proposed trying Eagle Eye.
The Solution
OK PRICE started with Eagle Eye two years ago, beginning with FBA reimbursements. About a year ago the missing piece arrived: the Return Scanner, Eagle Eye's app for physically checking returns and removals.
When return packages (Removal Shipments) arrive at OK PRICE's warehouse, Fausto's team scans them one by one. Every discrepancy comes up immediately: units Amazon claims were shipped but never arrived, broken or non-compliant customer returns. What used to be just a feeling becomes proof to present to Amazon, and Eagle Eye's team follows every case through to reimbursement.
On inbound shipments, on the other hand, the work is split: part is handled by OK PRICE internally, the rest by Eagle Eye. The service adapts to how much the seller wants to keep doing on their own.
OK PRICE has been among the clients who used the Return Scanner the most, and with its feedback has helped improve it.
"Now with you we're able to understand the goods that according to Amazon are shipped but no longer arrive at our warehouse, as well as customer returns that aren't compliant. […] Above all, the feeling of being in control. I always had this feeling that I had this loss but I didn't even know how to quantify it, honestly." — Giuseppe, OK PRICE (translated from Italian)
The Results
Over €41,000 recovered in two years, averaging more than €1,700 a month. Almost €27,000 comes from returns and removals alone: exactly the part OK PRICE used to leave to Amazon.
The loss Giuseppe felt but couldn't quantify now has a precise number. And every error that used to eat up the margin of 10 sales is now an open, documented, and reimbursed case.
"I'm happy because I see that it's still a fairly significant amount, it's a cost we can reinvest in the company. And this also gives me more confidence. […] We're now actually considering using products with a higher purchase cost." — Giuseppe, OK PRICE (translated from Italian)
Then there's a result that isn't measured in euros. With returns and removals under control, OK PRICE knows the metrics of every product, starting with the return rate. A broken or non-compliant return is no longer a loss to absorb, but a case to dispute. The same fear that kept OK PRICE away from more expensive products has now become a growth opportunity.
Could This Work for You?
If you sell low-priced, high-volume products, you get a mountain of returns. And you've probably decided to give up on controlling this part of your FBA business, just like OK PRICE had. But now you have a real alternative.
You don't need a dedicated team or specific skills. You need package-by-package control done by your team with the right tool, and a partner who follows every case through to reimbursement.
"I started from zero with no expertise in these things […] I didn't even know what removal orders were, to be honest, or removal shipments. Now this is much clearer to me. […] For me too, on a practical level, it's really, really simple to get to the point of disputing them, showing where the failures are, what errors come from Amazon, from the customer." — Fausto, warehouse manager, OK PRICE (translated from Italian)
How many return packages do you get every week? And how many do you actually check?
You don't have to take our word for it. The first two months are free: if there's nothing to recover on your account, you'll have paid nothing to find out.
